Purpose: This study examines students’ perceptions and experiences of Integrated Project-Based Learning, which combines Bartending, Cost Control, and English for Food and Beverage Operation courses at a vocational higher education institution in Bali.
Research Design and Methodology: An open-ended questionnaire was distributed to 25 students who had completed the integrated project. Responses were analyzed thematically using Braun and Clarke’s approach.
Findings and Discussion: Students viewed the project as an authentic simulation of food and beverage workplace demands. They reported developing technical, financial, and communication competencies, while also identifying challenges involving cognitive load, confidence in using English, and team coordination.
Implications: These findings can inform the design of integrated PjBL curricula in vocational hospitality education. Future research could examine how such projects affect students’ competency development over time and across different institutions.
